Our plan is to update the list and parent articles regularly with the additions and improvements that arise as you use it in the real world. I have given credit and linked the list item to their comment. That said, if you convert the checklist to another app, and are willing to maintain that file as the master list is updated, we would publish that added file format as long as each item links dynamically to the parent article and it's made clear that the copyright of the information remains with AAC.Ī big thank you to those members who filled in blanks in my experience. I know that might be cool, but messing with and maintaining multiple formats going forward is not a good use of our time-better we spend that time creating new content.
Please don't ask us to provide the list in other formats. We are also providing it as a PDF for those of you who just don't want to mess around with spreadsheets-just print the PDF and use one of those cool high-tech graphite and cellulose-based mark-up devices. Of course, Excel is anything but inexpensive, but the good news is that you can also upload the checklist to Google Sheets, which is free. For example, columns can be easily added for stuff like notes and the date the check was last performed.
We tried several options, but an Excel spreadsheet provides the most flexibility, allowing you to modify the list to fit your own needs. After five months and five in-depth inspection articles, we have now completed the rig checklist, which is ready for download (below).
